It doesn't get easier than this! Want flexibiliy with your schedule? If you have the skills, put them to work. Be your own boss.

Welcome to the wonderful world of freelance. Is it right for you? It all depends on your skill level, the demand for people like you, and where you look to get opportunities to work.Freelance work is awesome if you have considerable experience. Some types of jobs you can do at home and/or over the internet include:

Tutor (internet tutor), Fitness Consultant/intructor (over the net with videos and messaging), Web Designer, Ghost Writer, Dietician Consultant, Artists, Musicians, Blog Writerer, Private Affiliate, Travel Agent (from home), Insurance Broker(agent), Mystery Shopping(my next topic so stay tuned), Private Investor…

There are so many opportunities available online but the trouble starts when you are trying to look for potential customers and clients.

Here Are Some Tips to Help you Find Work

1)Post Classifieds. Yellow Pages, Local Magazines and News Paper, Craigslist, Kijiji,Classifieds.ca, Classifiedsforfree.com…

2)Build an online personal website for your business

3)Build a Portfolio for your work. Web Designers can’t get away from this. People want to see what you have done to know if you are worth the money and are legit.

4)Get yourself noticed on Socializing Networks. Myspace, Facebook, Reunion, Orkut, Bebo…

5)Harness the Power of Word to Mouth. Offer insentives to happy clients to tell their friends and family about you.

7)Bid for jobs on freelance networks. Try the links below:

8)Get some decent looking business cards and carry them with you. You never know when you will get an opportunity to make a new client.

9)Always take the opportunity to develop and showcase your skills. There are many contests, fairs, workshops, and conventions; take the opportunity to particiate. Learn from others in your field. You want to be able to stay current and relevant.

10)Negotiate. Depending on how much work you have to do, you may be forced to concede to the bidding of some customers. Try to be flexible; and when you can’t bend, offer your clients plenty of alternatives or recommendations.

11) Be fair and honest with your pricing. If a customer is only one google search away from finding someone better, faster and cheaper then you, then you have a big problem. People don’t like feeling like they’ve been cheated. The best customers are repeat customers and they are also your gateway to new clientel. Always be honest with your pricing. Break everything down for your clients, so they know extacty what they are getting from you. It’s too easy to loose a customer to someone cheaper. It helps if the customer knows that they are paying for quality with you.

12)I Already mentioned in #11; you need to stay competitive. Find out what the competition has that you don’t have, and see if you can get it. Recognize any asset you have that your competition doesn’t have and try to market it.

13)Meet and exceed expectations whenever possible. There is nothing worse than a freelancer that can’t keep up with deadlines. Try not to overload and put too much work on your plate. Always keep your promises. If you say that you will be ready in 1 week then make sure you are prepared and ready to go in 1 week. Even being a day or 2 early can’t hurt if you did quality work and didn’t cut corners just to finish early.

Customers also appreciate it when you do a little extra for free. It’s always a good idea to find suttle ways to let them know that they got a little extra from you so that they don’t have unrealistic expectations everytime they go to you. You don’t want to be cocky or act like you are doing them a big favor (as if you are being charitable). But let them know that you value their business and you appreciate the job they entrusted to you.

14)This one ties into #13 but I wanted to make my list as long as possible ;P. Be organized. I tried my luck at freelance work and it definately isn’t my cup of tea. I have a day planner but it’s pretty much useless to me because I rarely write anything down and when i do, I never check it. You will get more work done when you are organized. The less you have to remember off the top of your head the more likely you will be able to fullfill #13.

15)Have Fun. That’s the best way to stay self-motivated. Freelance work can be pretty lonely. Especially when you don’t have to leave your home to get stuff done. If you are always home, try to find ways to take your job out of the house. Cell phones, laptops, WiFi and portable wireless internet modems are amazing tools to use if you are “on the go” or if you want to get out of the house.

Some people don’t enjoy freelance primarily because they don’t have as much human contact as they would like. Freelance work is great because you are your own boss and you get to work when you choose to work. Some people need to have a fire lit under their bottoms now and then. Keep in mind that freelance work may only be a good part-time/spare-time money making opportunity rather a full-time career for most.

Data entry is a great opportunity if you have mad typing skills. There are many companies looking for people to work telecommute data entry opportunities. These opportunties tend to be fexible but demanding... If you have the time or you need the extra cash, check it out.

If you are interested in learning more about Data Entry then chances are you’ve seen many online classified posting, You Tube videos, or forum posts about online data entry. They promise to save you time, gas money and will keep you close to home. Are they legit?

Well…

Yes and No. Yes, there are some legit programs that will allow you to work from home doing data entry or administration work. But most online opportunities pays below minimum wage, the work may not be steady and there is alot of pressure to meet narrow deadlines.

The scams will promise you thousands of dollars, will flash huge mansions and fancy cars, accept anybody that applies, and will list very well established companies they are affiliated with like Dell, Google, Verizon….etc. These guy are looking for people JUST LIKE YOU. AAAAANNNNNDDDD….

They want your money. They want you to pay to get a job. LOL.

Ok, let be serious for a second. Do you REALLY want to work at home at a steady paying position doing some type of admin work? What are your best options? The best paying jobs are positions where you work in a regular work place environment and then opt for an “at home positions”.

There are several well established companies that are offering this type of program because it saves them money. Many of these “at home positions” pay employees the same as they would if the employees had to commute to work every day. In these instances, even employees save money from not having to travel to work.

The best place I would recommend finding these opportunities would be your local classifieds. News papers, magazines, and online sites like Workopolis or Monster. You can also try asking friends and family. There are recruitment programs for current employees who refer friends and family to work for their company, so there is alot of incentives for friends, family and even strangers to help you out. Then, try signing up for freelance job programs like The On Demand Global Workforce – oDesk ,or Bid for freelance work! at Elance.

One legit program would be Keysforcash. Depending on how fast you type you can generate a very very very modest income from signing up for this free program. This program is definitely something that should be considered a “spare-time” income generator rather than a full blown part-time job opportunity. But I’ve read several trust worthy reviews from people who have joined and have been paid for their work. Unfortunately, you have to be a US resident to apply. sorry to all my fellow Canadian followers. But who knows? Maybe try contacting them to recommend that they have some type of program offer for Canadians. If enough people make that recommendation, they may consider expanding their program.

Another telecommute opportunity I’ve found was LiveOps. I’m not familiar with this company but I’ve seen people recommend this program. They do require that applicants pay a one time fee for their own background check (around $30). I’m still have the opinion that one shouldn’t have to pay for the opportunity to work but this maybe one of the very few exceptions. I really don’t know what to think about it. $30 isn’t alot of money but just out of the principal, I don’t want to pay for something only to discover that it’s a scam. For the sake of this blog, I wouldn’t mind trying this program but I already have a pretty good regular job. If anyone does sign up and try out this program, let me know or leave a comment about your experiences.

Try DionData Solutions a “Data Management Service Bureau”. They provide free training and support. You must be able to type at least 60wpm with accuracy. There are many other qualifications and requirements which you should review before applying. If you try this program out, let me know about your experiences.

Finally, take a look at Axion Data Services. Its another data entry and form processing service. They have about 15 000 data entry operators across America and they provide services to banks, universities, school districts, insurance companies, marketing firms… etc. I’m still looking for people to provide some feedback on this company. If you sign up and get a telecommute position through this company, let me know what you think.

Answer triva questions and earn cash.

Ok, I’ve found another great work at home opportunity that pays. Do you think you are smart enough to take a trivia test? Know anything about geography, math, reading, science, movies and music? How good are your “Googling” skill?… if you want to know why I have to ask then read on and take the TEST.

You can try your luck at applying for the kgb. YES, you read me right. Apply for the Special Agent position with the kgb. The Knowledge Generation Bureau(or kgb without any capital letter) is looking for people to participate in their Work @ Home Recruitment Center.

It’s free to join but you do have to take a pretty killer test and pass to qualify. Its shift work and you need to work a minimum of 6 hours a week. It’s a great opportunity for people looking to make a little extra in a program that actually pays you for the work that you do. You get paid about 0.10cents for every full response and 0.05cents for each validation responses. It’s not a lot but it’s a steady part-time gig you can do at home in your spare-time. What more can you ask for? This is the type of program that is best suited for young people. You need to be at least 18 years old to join. IMO, kids from 14-25 would have a lot of fun with this job. You can earn between $3-$6/h if you are able to answer 1 question a minute. For a Trivia Wiz, this would be a piece of cake. I took the test and passed, YAY FOR ME!!!

Unfortunately, I didn’t read about the qualifications that you MUST meet in order to participate in the program. 1) you must have a U.S.A SSN and a U.S. bank account. They accept people who reside in Canada but you must be able to work legally in the U.S. lol. If anyone knows of a similar program in Canada or a program that takes international people, let me know. It sucks. I was sooooo… excited cause it seems to be a very legit program that actually offers something promising. Anyways, even if you are not a U.S. citizen you can still take the test to see what you are made of.

Be a Special Agent for the kgb!!!

Do love to socialize on the net? Why not get paid for it? There are plenty of social networking sites willing to share their revenue with you. All you have to do is use their site to earn, get your friends to join, and it's all FREE! It's fun, easy and there is huge potential for big earnings if you put in the effort.

Well…

It’s true. There are plenty of opportunities online!!! Have a lot of friends and family? Do you want a place to share videos, photos, your opinions? Then you probably already know about sites like FaceBook, MySpace, Yahoo Messenger, and YouTube…

Have you ever thought about how much ad revenue these websites bring in? There are reports that MySpace earned $495 million in 2008 with 70 million viewers and users. In 2008, YouTube brought in 200 million in revenue for themselves. Now that is some serious change these companies are earning just because you decided to do all of your socializing with them.

So, what if there was a company that shared some of its revenue with you? Sounds like a good deal, considering the fact that you are the one doing all of the work requires to bring in all that money! Without you there is no YouTube, MySpace, FaceBook… So, it is refreshing to see a company that is willing to give its users a little something back for their efforts.

Check Out This Website
*Its free to join

*Meet lots of great people

*Find great leads and potential customers for a growing new business

*Have a blast

* GET PAID TO DO ALL THESE THINGS AND MORE!!!

*And did I mention that it’s ALL free!

You get paid to check out the pages of other users. You get paid for views on your own page and you get paid for all the activity of your friend you get to sign up. Getting friends to join is so easy because it’s FREE to join. Take a look at the chart on the left. I’m sure you can find at least 3 friends to sign up for free. I’m sure those friends can come up with 3 friend of their own to sign up for free. I’m sure your friends and your friend’s friends can come up with interesting blogs, vlogs, video content, and pictures to share with the whole community. Over time, with some patients and a bit of work, it’s possible to generate quite a decent income from your personal page and, remember, you didn’t have to pay a dime for any of this!!!!
